2 Correcting the “high temperature” misunderstanding
Actual working temperature: 120°C (hot air drying). Many buyers assume they need a high-temperature silicone hose, but standard platinum‑cured silicone tubing already works from -40°C to +200°C – more than enough.

3 Finding the correct size – no guesswork
We asked the customer to measure the hard barbed fitting (connector OD): exactly 12.0mm.
Sealing principle: The tube’s inner diameter (ID) must be slightly smaller than the connector OD – not the same, not larger.

First candidate: ID 11.5mm × OD 16.3mm (wall 2.4mm) – but this was a non‑standard size (no stock, no sample, custom fees). We advised against it.
Instead, we recommended a true standard stock size: ID 11.5mm × OD 16.5mm (wall 2.5mm). OD 16.5mm is very close to their original OD (~16.3mm). Free samples available, no MOQ.
4 Sample test & fine‑tuning
The customer tested ID11.5×OD16.5 and reported: “It fits, but feels slightly looser than I’d like.”
We proposed another standard stock size: ID 11.0mm × OD 16.0mm (wall 2.5mm) – tighter interference fit. Still a standard size (free sample, stock available). Installation required a little soapy water – silicone is elastic and stretches.
Second sample result: “It was tighter to install, but with soapy water it worked perfectly. Now it seals 100% – no leaks. The 16mm OD still fits our clamps.”
5 Volume order & certification
The customer placed a trial order for 100m of ID 11.0mm × OD 16.0mm silicone tubing (platinum cured, transparent). Because it was a standard stock size, we shipped in 2 days – no MOQ pressure.
Two weeks later, after successful installation, they ordered 2000m for full production. Again, a standard size, so we shipped in 5–7 days.
They also needed FDA certification – our tubing is FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 certified, and we provided the certificate immediately.

What is the working temperature range of your silicone tubing?
Our standard platinum‑cured silicone tubing works continuously from -40°C to +200°C. For high‑temperature applications, we offer a special grade that withstands 250°C continuously (300°C peak). Low‑temperature flexibility remains down to -60°C. All data are based on ASTM D1329 and ASTM D573 tests.
Is your silicone tubing food‑grade and medical‑grade certified?
Yes. We provide FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, LFGB, NSF 51, USP Class VI, RoHS, and REACH certificates. Our platinum curing process leaves no peroxide by‑products, ensuring safety for direct food contact, drinking water, and medical devices (e.g., peristaltic pumps, dialysis lines).
What inside diameters can you make? What is the tolerance?
We can produce silicone tubing with inner diameter from 1 mm up to 200 mm. Standard tolerance is ±0.1 mm for IDs under 50 mm, and ±0.2 mm for larger sizes. Tighter tolerances (±0.05 mm) available for precision applications.
Can you customize hardness, color, or shape?
Absolutely. Hardness ranges from 30 Shore A to 80 Shore A. Colors are matched to any Pantone code. For shapes, we offer round, square, D‑shaped, multi‑lumen, and custom extruded profiles – all without tooling fee for small modifications.
