Co-extruded silicone sleeve with a black honeycomb face. The translucent body spreads the light and the mesh turns it into a grid of cells, so the line reads decorative and stays dark when the strip is off.

What a honeycomb silicone sleeve is
This is one co-extruded silicone sleeve with a honeycomb face — the pattern buyers call honeycomb, and the diffuser that carries the strip. The body is translucent diffusing silicone; the outer face carries a black co-extruded mesh that is part of the same wall, not a coating, a print or a second part glued on. Light leaves through the open cells of that mesh, so the lit face reads as a honeycomb grid of small bright cells instead of one continuous glow.
The effect is decorative first and optical second: the black mesh cuts glare and gives the line a segmented, technical look, and when the strip is off the face reads dark instead of milky white. Use it where the profile is meant to be seen as part of the design, not hidden in a groove. Because the mesh is extruded with the wall, its pitch stays constant along the run and around bends. The compound and the mesh pitch are set before the first metre is made, which is why we ask for the LED pitch and the target look together.

Transmittance, colour and flexibility come from the compound. Because we compound and extrude, a change in the light effect is a formulation change, not a new supplier.
Extrusion from your drawing
We work from the section drawing or the groove you have to fill, and tell you whether an existing die fits or a new one is needed.
Finishing and accessories
Cut to length and packed to suit your line. Where the fixture needs a sealed end, the method is agreed before the order.
Paperwork that matches the claim
Certificates are described at the level they are held. Where a product-specific test report is needed, it is quoted as a separate project instead of implied.
Key advantages
A honeycomb effect no film can hold
The mesh is co-extruded, so cells stay square and evenly pitched for the whole run. A printed or laminated grid drifts, bubbles or wears at the edges.
Glare cut at the surface
The black mesh covers most of the face and leaves only the cells open. That is why the line reads calm from an angle instead of throwing a bright band at the viewer.
Dark when off
An unlit milky sleeve is a pale stripe on the wall. The mesh face stays black, so the fixture disappears into the design until it is switched on.
Three layers, one wall
White base, diffusing body and mesh face are one extrusion. There is no interface to delaminate and no assembly step at your end.
Stable under LED heat and sun
Platinum-cured silicone runs from −40 °C to +200 °C and resists yellowing, so a facade or a sign face keeps its colour.
Sealed as an assembly
Where the run has to be closed, the sleeve is supplied as a sealed assembly rated IP67 or IP68, with caps and the sealing method agreed as part of the project.
Bends without stress whitening
Silicone takes a curve without the white marks a rigid cover shows, so a line can follow a letter or a rounded corner and keep its appearance.
Made to drawing
Section, colour layout and mesh pitch are quoted from your drawing. We tell you whether an existing die fits before a new one is opened.
Sections and honeycomb variants
The multi-colour co-extrusion family that runs on the same dies as the grid mesh version. The mesh pattern itself is a separate co-extruded layer, made to your pitch and cell size.

Honeycomb face versus plain diffuser sleeve
The honeycomb face is a design choice, not an upgrade. It trades a small amount of output for a controlled, glare-free look and a dark surface when the strip is off.

Frequently asked questions
What exactly is the black honeycomb on the surface?
It is a co-extruded black silicone mesh in the same wall as the diffuser. It is not a print, a film or a separate part, so it does not peel or wear off, and its pitch stays constant along the run.
Is the mesh face the light-emitting face?
Yes. Light passes through the open cells, so the lit face shows a grid of bright cells. The white base behind the mesh spreads the light before it reaches the cells, which is what keeps the pattern even.
Can you change the mesh pitch or cell size?
Send the drawing or the effect you want. Pitch and cell size are die features, so a change means a new die; we quote it before production.
Which strip widths fit?
8 mm flexible PCB on the standard multi-colour sections in the table. Widths outside that are quoted against your strip and section.
Do you publish a transmission figure?
No. Light output depends on the strip, the mesh pitch and the wall behind it, so the figure that matters is measured on the sample built around your strip.
Is it waterproof?
The sleeve itself is solid silicone. Where the fixture needs a rating, it is supplied as a sealed assembly rated IP67 or IP68, with the end treatment agreed per project.
What temperature can it take?
−40 °C to +200 °C. Tell us if the fixture runs hotter near the strip and we will say whether a different compound is needed.
What are the order terms?
Minimum order value USD 500. Stock samples are free; custom runs are quoted. Standard items ship in 5–7 days, custom items in 10–20 working days after sample approval.
