Product Guide · Standard Construction
Polyester braided silicone hose is our standard reinforced product: a three-layer build with a platinum-cured silicone inner layer, a high-temperature polyester braid, and a silicone outer jacket. It covers ID 3 mm to 31.75 mm, continuous service from −40 °C to +200 °C, and it is fully vacuum capable, kink resistant and burst resistant. We manufacture it in Dongguan, China, with eleven standard bore sizes held as a fixed specification.
This page is the technical reference for that construction: what each layer does, what the braid actually adds, the complete model table with burst pressure and bend radius, how the reinforced hose compares with plain silicone tubing, and which options can be specified on order. If you are still deciding between reinforcement types, start with the comparison of braided, mesh and steel wire constructions and come back here for the polyester specification.
| Construction3-layer | Bore range3–31.75 mm | Continuous temp−40 to +200 °C | VacuumFull vacuum |
The name describes the build exactly. Three layers, each with one job:
| Layer | Material | Job |
|---|---|---|
| Inner bore | Platinum-cured medical and food-grade silicone | Product contact. Smooth bore, easy to clean, low odour. |
| Braid | High-temperature polyester yarn, braided | Carries the load. Pressure, vacuum, kink and fatigue resistance. |
| Outer jacket | Silicone | Encapsulates the braid and protects it from abrasion and handling. |
The silicone in both the inner and outer layers is platinum-cured (addition-cured) rather than peroxide-cured. For a hose that may carry drinking water, food, laboratory fluids or oxygen, that choice has practical consequences: low extractables, no curing by-product odour, and high transparency so the bore can be inspected without cutting the line.
Because both the inner and outer layers are silicone and the braid sits fully between them, the finished hose keeps its transparency and the reinforcement never comes into contact with the medium.
The reinforcement layer is the entire reason this product exists. Five things change when you add it:
One honest boundary: the braid raises pressure and kink resistance, but how much it raises them depends on the bore, the wall thickness, the braid geometry and your duty cycle. We publish the measured burst and bend radius for each of our eleven standard models below, and we do not publish a blanket multiplier such as "three times the pressure of plain tubing" — that would only be valid for one size under one set of conditions.

| HJBX-008 | 15.87 ± 0.7 | 25 ± 0.7 | 4.565 | ≥ 23 | 80 |
| HJBX-009 | 19.05 ± 0.7 | 31 ± 0.7 | 5.975 | ≥ 18 | 110 |
| HJBX-010 | 25.4 ± 0.7 | 38 ± 0.7 | 6.3 | ≥ 12 | 150 |
| HJBX-011 | 31.75 ± 0.7 | 46 ± 0.7 | 7.125 | ≥ 12 | 200 |
Note how burst pressure falls as the bore rises. That is not a manufacturing inconsistency — it is the geometry of a thin-wall-to-diameter ratio, and it is why a 25 mm line should never be specified on the strength of a 3 mm datasheet. Burst figures are failure thresholds, not working pressures: size your line from the working pressure and apply the safety factor your own standard requires. Values are stated in kg because that is how the published data sheet expresses them — ask us for the bar or psi equivalent with your quotation.
Plain silicone tubing is not an inferior product — it is the right product for the wrong application if you use it under vacuum or at a tight bend. The comparison below is about fit, not quality:
| Property | Plain silicone tubing | Polyester braided hose |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure resistance | Limits set by the silicone wall | Raised by the braid layer |
| Vacuum | Collapses under strong vacuum | Suitable for full vacuum |
| Kink resistance | Kinks at tight radii | Holds bore at tighter radii |
| Flexibility | Softer, more flexible | Firmer — the trade-off for strength |
| Fatigue under cycling | Shorter in pulsing duty | Longer, with dimensional stability |
| Cost | Lower | Higher — an extra layer and process step |
| Best fit | Atmospheric or low pressure, static runs, gentle bends | Vacuum, pressure cycling, tight bends, long unsupported runs |
Short version: use plain silicone tubing for atmospheric and low-pressure static lines with generous bends. Use the braided hose wherever the line goes negative, pulses, or has to survive a tight radius inside a machine.
The same standard construction serves several industries, because the requirement — a clean bore that will not collapse or kink — is not industry-specific:
The eleven models above are the standard range. Beyond that, the following can be specified when an order is placed:
| Option | Status |
|---|---|
| Class 100,000 cleanroom production | Can be provided according to customer requirements |
| ISO 10993 biocompatibility test reports | Three reports (cytotoxicity, skin sensitization, skin irritation), according to customer requirements |
| ISO 13485 | Can be provided according to customer requirements |
| Custom ID and OD | Available outside the eleven standard sizes; quoted per project |
| Cut lengths and packaging | 1–15 m per bag as standard; length and bagging to customer requirement |
| Higher pressure constructions | Mesh braid and steel wire braid are custom options for higher pressure requirements, evaluated per project |
| Fittings and assemblies | We manufacture the silicone hose. Non-silicone components such as fittings and clamps can be integrated through our partner network as an assembly; they are not made in our factory. |
Because every one of those options changes the run, the right move is to tell us which ones you need before sampling. Cleanroom production and ISO 10993 reports are scheduled into the order, not added to it afterwards.
| Stage | Lead time |
|---|---|
| In-stock samples | Ship in 3 days |
| Standard parts | Typically 5–7 days |
| Custom and project-specific parts | 10–20 working days, depending on specification and quantity |
Manufacturing runs in a 6,800 m² facility in Dongguan with 14 extrusion lines, 4 calendering lines and 7 compression moulding lines, and capacity up to 8,000,000 meters per month. Production employs over 90 people, with more than 50 in management, engineering and sales.
What is polyester braided silicone hose?
A three-layer hose: a platinum-cured silicone inner tube, a braided high-temperature polyester reinforcement layer, and a silicone outer jacket. The braid carries pressure and vacuum load so the hose resists collapse and kinking; the silicone layers keep the bore clean and the reinforcement fully encapsulated.
Is it a 3-layer or a 4-layer construction?
Our standard polyester braided product is a 3-layer construction: inner silicone, polyester braid, outer silicone. Some buyers search for "four layer braided silicone hose" — if a project genuinely requires an additional layer, that is a custom item and we will confirm the build against your specification rather than assume it.
What sizes are available?
Eleven standard models from 3 mm to 31.75 mm inner diameter, with wall thicknesses from 2.5 mm to 7.125 mm. Custom bore and wall combinations can be quoted outside the standard range.
What temperature can it handle?
−40 to +200 °C (−40 to 392 °F) continuous. If your process exceeds that continuously, tell us — it changes the material discussion rather than the braid.
Is it suitable for vacuum service?
Yes, full vacuum. That is one of the main reasons to specify the braided construction instead of plain silicone tubing, which collapses under strong vacuum.
Is the burst pressure in the table a working pressure?
No. It is the failure threshold. Design from your working pressure and apply the safety factor your own engineering or regulatory standard requires. The figures are in kg because that is how the published data sheet expresses them; we can provide the bar or psi equivalent on request.
What materials is it compliant with?
The material is held against ROHS, FDA, LFGB and NSF requirements. Documentation for a specific regulatory file can be provided on request.
Is the inner bore medical grade?
Both silicone layers are medical and food-grade silicone, platinum-cured. Note that the hose is a component for equipment and is not intended for human implant. Cleanroom production and ISO 10993 reports can be provided according to customer requirements.
Can I get samples before ordering?
Yes. In-stock samples ship in 3 days. Standard parts are typically 5–7 days.
What if I need higher pressure than the standard braid provides?
We build mesh braided and steel wire braided versions as custom options for higher pressure requirements. Both are made to order and quoted per project against your working pressure, peak pressure, vacuum level, temperature and bend radius.
Can it be supplied cut to length?
Yes. Standard packaging is 1–15 m per bag, and cut lengths and bagging can be specified with the order.
Can you attach fittings?
We manufacture the silicone hose. Fittings, clamps and other non-silicone components can be integrated through our partner network and supplied as an assembly; they are not manufactured in our factory.
Tell us the bore and wall you need, the working and peak pressure, whether the line goes under vacuum, the temperature, the medium, the bend radius it must survive in your machine, and the quantity. If you are unsure which of the eleven models fits, send the ID and OD and we will map it. If your requirement sits outside the standard range, say so up front — that is a custom discussion, not a problem.
